Geneva Bible

The Geneva Bible is one of the most historically significant translations of the Bible into English. It was the first English Bible to use verse numbers, a major innovation that has been followed by virtually all subsequent translations. Published in 1560, it was created by Protestant scholars in exile in Geneva, Switzerland, following the persecution under Queen Mary I of England. It was popular among the Puritans and Pilgrims.
